The project manager of the Bakhtar Regional Electric Company’s overhead distribution lines announced: The project to replace ordinary conductors with high-capacity conductors from the 230 kV substation of Khorram Power Plant to the 400 kV substation of Khorramabad was successfully completed to enable the connection of a new power plant unit under construction with a capacity of 250.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Bakhtar Regional Power Company, Bahram Aslani, referring to the announcement of the company’s Planning Deputy regarding the increase in the capacity of the 230 kV double-circuit line from the 230 kV substation of the Khorram Power Plant to the 400 kV substation of Khorramabad to avoid the production of the expansion phase of the Khorram Power Plant to 250 MW, the project to replace the conductor of the aforementioned double-circuit line with a length of 23 km was implemented and put into operation within three months by providing 180 tons of high-capacity STILT/ACSS MA5 conductors and special fittings.
Aslani said: Among the features of the high-capacity STILT/ACSS MA5 conductors, we can mention the transmission of almost three times more power with the same weight ACSR conductor and without new loading on the existing towers.
He announced the cost of implementing the project to replace the conductors of 230 kV lines from the 230 kV substation of the Khorram Power Plant to the 400 kV substation of Khorramabad at nearly one trillion rials and said: The transmission capacity of each circuit of this line increased from 171 MW to 584 MW.
